When connecting Delenta to Microsoft Teams, your organisation's IT settings may block the integration until an administrator grants the necessary permissions. This article explains why this happens and how your IT team can resolve it.
⚠ Who needs to complete this? This process must be completed by a Global Administrator in your Microsoft 365 / Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) environment. Standard Teams users or Teams Service Admins cannot grant this level of access. |
The Error You May Be Seeing
When a coach or user attempts to connect their Delenta account to Microsoft Teams, they may see a screen with the following message:
"Need admin approval" Delenta needs permission to access resources in your organisation that only an admin can grant. Please ask an admin to grant permission to this app before you can use it. |
Why Does This Happen?
By default, Microsoft 365 organisations are configured to require an administrator to approve third-party app permissions before any users can grant access. This is a security measure controlled by your organisation's Azure Active Directory (now called Microsoft Entra ID) settings — it is not something Delenta can override.
How to Resolve It
There are two ways to grant admin consent. Your IT team only needs to complete one of the following options.
Option 1 — Microsoft Teams Admin Centre (Recommended)
Steps:
Sign in to the Microsoft Teams Admin Centre at admin.teams.microsoft.com using a Global Administrator account.
In the left-hand menu, navigate to Teams apps → Manage apps.
Use the search bar to find Delenta.
Click the app name, then open the Permissions tab.
Select Review permissions and consent, review the list of permissions being requested, then click Accept.
Once accepted, users across your organisation will no longer see the admin approval prompt when connecting Delenta.
Option 2 — Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) Admin Centre
Use this option if Delenta does not appear in the Teams Admin Centre, or if Option 1 does not resolve the issue.
Steps:
Sign in to the Microsoft Entra Admin Centre at entra.microsoft.com using a Global Administrator account.
Navigate to Entra ID → Enterprise Applications → All Applications.
Search for Delenta and select it from the results.
In the left panel under the Security section, click Permissions.
Review the permissions listed, then click Grant admin consent and confirm.
After Granting Consent
Once admin consent has been granted:
Users in your organisation will no longer be shown the admin approval prompt.
Coaches can return to Delenta and complete the Microsoft Teams integration as normal.
Consent can be revoked at any time via the Entra ID Enterprise Applications blade.
Need Further Assistance?
If your IT team needs further guidance while working through these steps, Microsoft Copilot (bundled with most Microsoft 365 plans) can provide real-time, tenant-specific guidance. Simply open Copilot within your Microsoft environment and describe what you are trying to accomplish.
